The humpback whale is one of the largest animals in the world. This mammal, which is found in oceans and seas all over the world, measures an average of fifteen meters and can weigh up to 40 tons. What characterizes her are these very large fins and the protrusions that cover her head. It is also distinguished by its black color on top and whitish underside which it sometimes shows during spectacular jumps out of the water. In addition to their majesty, whales are known for their intricate songs that appeal to us as a strange and fantastic melody, and these could potentially play an important role in courtship displays as well. In the humpback whale, mating takes place in tropical or warm waters and is followed by a one-year pregnancy. After birth, the calf remains dependent on its mother until the age of 6, when it becomes large enough and is therefore no longer easy prey for its predators.
